To get the money for her sister's eye operation, Ashok accepts the offer and the unusual assignment. During his new position in the new household, where Ashok admirably succeeds in carrying out his assignment, but he himself falls in love with the eldest sister Asha. Granny gets furious, she exposes Ashok as a paid man and turns him out of the house. On reaching his own house empty handed Ashok discovers that his blind sister has been raped by an unknown criminal in his absence. Swearing revenge, Ashok set out in search of the rapist. The rapist, Pran in the meanwhile, has managed to get engaged to Asha. In a criminal conspiracy he abducts the honest granny and substituted her evil sister in her place. Ashok, in search of his sister, was injured in an explosion caused by Pran. In the hospital, he is nursed by none else than his own lost sister Roopa, who recovered her eyesight after the kind behaviour of a saintly surgeon. But feeling ashamed of her own dishonour, Roopa left the hospital without meeting her brother. Pran and Asha engaged, the granny abducted, his sister lost again.. Ashok finds that life was being too harsh upon him. He loses his faith in God, but soon he finds his sister again but she is critically ill.. he is left with no alternative but to pray for his sister's life. A boy died after being hit by hoarding on Monday afternoon in Mumbai. Nine year old Viraj got hit from the hoarding as he put his head outside the bus to wave his friend. It is reported that he died at he spot. However he was rushed to Sion Hospital where he was declared dead. Parents are alleging bus driver for delay in taking Viraj to Hospital. Though it is mandatory to have grills in school bus window it did not have.

Dharmendra plays a reformed criminal who helps a one armed retired army man protect a village from the dacoits. Asha Parekh played Dharmendra's love interest. However, it was supporting actress Laxmi Chayya who stole the film by dancing circles around Dharmendra and Asha to the evergreen hit "Maar diya jaaye ya chhod diya jaaye, bol tere saath kya sulook kiya jaaye". As the audience holds its collective breath, the sexy vamp cuts the ropes that bind the heros hands after she has drugged the villains. The film is particularly noted for a rural setting, and it became a super hit, taking second place at the box office for 1971. It is also said to have many elements that inspired one of the box office champs of all time, Sholay(1975). The climax fights are still remembered for the realism and are very convincing although a single man is fighting a horde of bandits. LAXMI CHHAYA fact - This charming and beautiful woman never made it big as a heroine. The closest she came was in Mere Gaon Mere Desh, where she absolutely shines as dacoit Vinod Khannas spy who falls in love with the object of her assignment—Dharmendra. she is able to dance to any kind of song: tawaif, night club, village entertainment. Her most captivating feature in my opinion is her smile—it lights up the screen with joy, and theres no mistaking it for anyone elses. Plus, nobody dances like she does—it gives whiplash just watching her sometimes, but she comes through unscathed! When she has an actual role, its always secondary—the heroines best friend, the vamp, etc. The face is unmistakable and unique with big round eyes and a toothy grin. It's Laxmi Chhaya who appeared in a number of Bollywood films of the 60s and 70s. Today she may be the most recognizable Bollywood figure in the West due to her appearance in Terry Zwigoff's "Ghost World" the film based on Daniel Clowes' graphic novel of the same name. Laxmi was the dancer of the Bollywood item dance number "Jaan Pehchan Ho Jeena Aasan Ho " that Mohd Rafi sings in "Gumnaam" [1965]. How ironic is it that it would be Laxmi Chhaya dancing an item number from a second rate Manjol Kumar, Babita, fluff entertainer that would be the first actual Bollywood film footage to be shown in wide distribution on Western movie theater screens? Laxmi Chhaya quite often played bubbly secondary characters and as far as I know she never had a starring role in an A-grade Bollywood film. Her most famous part was in the film "Mera Gaon Mera Desh" [1971] where she was paired with Vinod Khanna. Laxmi had three dance numbers in this film and also does a fair amount of acting. She also appeared in the Shammi Kapoor, Sadhana, film "Budtameez" [1966] where she had a small part as one of Sadhana's best friends. And she had a fairly large secondary part in "Teesri Manzil" [1966]. aaya Sawan Jhoom Ki and Upkar which she appeared in only one song"Gulabi Raat Gulabi.Ram Aur Shyam (1967) ,Raaz (1967) , Mere Humsafar (1970) ,Ek Shriman Ek Shrimati (1969) , Yaadgaar (1970),Parwana (1971) Laxmi Chayya has died in 2004 because of having breast cancer.

Maachis

'Maachis' is a true story inspired by the 1984 Sikh riots after the assassination of Indira Gandhi, the Prime Minister of India. The police started assaulting innocent Sikh families which led to many youths joining extremist groups to revolt against an oppressive regime. Kripal (Chandrachur Singh) lives peacefully with his best friend Jaswant (Raj Zutshi) and is in love with Jaswants's sister, Veeran (Tabu). Iqbal (Shreyas Talpade) is a deaf and mute cricket player with an amazing hand at bowling. Border

In the year 1971 the Indian army has been sent to a deserted place in Longewala region of Punjab to war with the Pakistani Army. Shyamsunder (Govinda) arrives in Mumbai to make it big in the music industry and befriends a Tabla player, Muthuswami (Satish Kaushik). Good Boy Bad Boy

Raju Malhotra (Emraan Hashmi) and Rajan Malhotra (Tusshar Kapoor) study in the same college but are poles apart in everything. While Raju is a brat, poor in studies but good in sports, Rajan is a brilliant student but a zero in extracurricular activities. Karmayogi

Shankar (Raaj Kumar) lives in a small village with his son, Mohan, and his devout wife, Durga (Mala Sinha), who is expecting another child soon. Sangdil Sanam

Kailash Nath is the manager of a bank and lives happily with his wife, Savitri, and son, Kishan. Shreeman Funtoosh

Kishore (Kishore Kumar) is an unemployed young man who is popularly known as funtoosh among his friends and family. Kishore falls in love with Meena (Kumkum), who belongs to a rich family. Meena's father is a scientist. He is working on a secret formula, which is being sponsored by a wicked businessman, Mr. Shyamlal (S. K. Shyam). Shyamlal's son Ranjan (Anoop Kumar) wants to marry Meena but when he learns that Meena loves Kishore,he tries to create misunderstanding between them. Brothers Raja (Sanjay Dutt) and Rahul (Aditya Pancholi) live in a small town in Himachal Pradesh with their widowed mother, Sharda. Ironically, Raja and Rahul fall in love with the same girl, Chinar (Neelam). Raja loves Chinar and shows his love in his own style, but Chinar misunderstands this, for she has given her heart to Rahul. This movie is the sequel to the cult classic 'Nagina' where the battle rages to possess the 'Naag Mani'. After the tragic deaths of Rajiv and Rajni, their only daughter Neelam (Sridevi) is sent to live in the city. Years later, Neelam has grown up and returns to visit their palatial home in the village. Her grandfather wants her to stay and look after the business there, but she refuses and wants to leave for the city. But when Neelam meets Anand (Sunny Deol), she decides to stay and they fall in love and decide to get married. What Neelam does not know is that Anand was a snake kept in captivity by the wicked sage Goraknath (Anupam Kher), who wants to possess the 'Naag Mani'. Goraknath uses Anand to gain control over Neelam for she is the only one who knows the gem's location. Soon a vicious battle ensues where Goraknath does everything in his power to destroy Neelam and locate the two snakes holding the precious gem. How will Neelam vanquish Goraknath? Can Anand break free of Goraknath's curse? Who will win the final battle?

Hero

Notorious criminal Pasha (Amrish Puri) has been sent to jail by the former inspector general of Police Shrikanth Mathur (Shammi Kapoor). An enraged Pasha decides to get even with Shrikanth and hence asks his trusted protégé Jackie (Jackie Shroff) to carry out a plan to get him released from the prison. As directed, Jackie abducts Shrikanth's daughter Radha (Meenakshi Shashadri) in the garb of a police officer. Radha is made to believe that Jackie and his gang of goons are her protectors and are keeping her in the jungle for her safety as her house has been taken over by bandits. As the days passed, Jackie gets increasingly drawn towards Radha and eventually both fall in love with each other. Radha discovers about Jackie's truth but still stays by his side. She even makes Jackie surrender which leads him to spend two years in jail. Radha meanwhile returns to her home and narrates about her love to her brother Damodar (Sanjeev Kumar). Thwarted plans of his release makes Pasha angry and he vows to take revenge from Srikanth and Jackie. Will Jackie and Radha meet? Will their love be accepted by all? What will Pasha do to extract his revenge?

Rajesh (Dilip Kumar) comes from a wealthy family who is both shrewd in business and large of heart. He is friends with Shekhar (Manoj Kumar), who is a young doctor. Shekhar is in love with Meena (Waheeda Rehman), the daughter of one of Rajesh's servants. Meena too falls in love with Shekhar, but when Rajesh falls for Meena and determines to marry her, Shekhar and Meena decide to conceal their relationship. Rajesh and Meena get engaged but tragedy strikes when they meet with a car accident in which Rajesh becomes paralyzed and is confined to a wheelchair. It is then that Rajesh finds out about Shekhar and Meena's affair and Rajesh's murderous and possessive hatred from the past surfaces. A farmer witnesses the crash of a space aircraft and finds a boy in the ruins. The farmer and his wife adopt the child and name him Jai.
