How Spielberg Might Respond to Terry Gilliam & Salman Rushdie

At the 2002 Telluride Film Festival, director Terry Gilliam and author Salman Rushdie, during a conversation of science fiction films, exchanged a series of criticisms on a handful of Steven Spielberg films -- including "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" (1977), "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial" (1982), and "A.I. Artificial Intelligence" (2001). Most significantly, both Gilliam and Rushdie were under a popular impression that Spielberg had tampered with Stanley Kubrick's vision of "A.I." and had supposedly slapped on the film's half-hour finale at the last minute. Ever wonder what Spielberg might say in response to Gilliam and Rushdie's criticisms? This presentation will give you an idea. The Epic of Gilgamesh is an epic poem from Ancient Iraq and is among the earliest known works of literary writing. Gilgamesh might have been a real ruler in the late Early Dynastic II period (ca. 27th century BCE). The essential story revolves around the relationship between Gilgamesh, who has become distracted and disheartened by his rule, and a friend, Enkidu, who is half-wild and who undertakes dangerous quests with Gilgamesh. Much of the epic focuses on Gilgamesh's thoughts of loss following Enkidu's death. It is about their becoming human together, and has a high emphasis on immortality. A boy died after being hit by hoarding on Monday afternoon in Mumbai. Nine year old Viraj got hit from the hoarding as he put his head outside the bus to wave his friend. It is reported that he died at he spot. However he was rushed to Sion Hospital where he was declared dead. Parents are alleging bus driver for delay in taking Viraj to Hospital. Though it is mandatory to have grills in school bus window it did not have.
