He could not forget and never could he forgive himself for the fact that because of a childhood prank,his sister Roopa became blind. His only ambition was to restore his sister's eyesight. There was a ray of hope when he came to know that a newly discovered operation could restore her eyesight - but the money required was beyond what he could ever mange to earn. While there is an aristocrat lady Sarojini, who hates love marriages because her twin sister had a distressing experience because of love marriage and had gone astray after that. Sarojini Devi wished that her three grand daughters who had lost their parents, should have arranged marriages and should not fall in love. But she found it difficult to get them married to young men of her choice, because the eldest of the three sisters was a man-hater and the two young sisters were already in love. Sarojini Devi offers Ashok the job of breaking the love affairs of the two younger sisters and making the elder sister agreeable to the idea of marrying a young man of her granny's choice. To get the money for her sister's eye operation, Ashok accepts the offer and the unusual assignment. During his new position in the new household, where Ashok admirably succeeds in carrying out his assignment, but he himself falls in love with the eldest sister Asha. Granny gets furious, she exposes Ashok as a paid man and turns him out of the house. On reaching his own house empty handed Ashok discovers that his blind sister has been raped by an unknown criminal in his absence. Swearing revenge, Ashok set out in search of the rapist. The rapist, Pran in the meanwhile, has managed to get engaged to Asha. In a criminal conspiracy he abducts the honest granny and substituted her evil sister in her place. Ashok, in search of his sister, was injured in an explosion caused by Pran. In the hospital, he is nursed by none else than his own lost sister Roopa, who recovered her eyesight after the kind behaviour of a saintly surgeon. But feeling ashamed of her own dishonour, Roopa left the hospital without meeting her brother. Pran and Asha engaged, the granny abducted, his sister lost again.. Ashok finds that life was being too harsh upon him. He loses his faith in God, but soon he finds his sister again but she is critically ill.. he is left with no alternative but to pray for his sister's life. Dharmendra plays a reformed criminal who helps a one armed retired army man protect a village from the dacoits. Asha Parekh played Dharmendra's love interest. However, it was supporting actress Laxmi Chayya who stole the film by dancing circles around Dharmendra and Asha to the evergreen hit "Maar diya jaaye ya chhod diya jaaye, bol tere saath kya sulook kiya jaaye". As the audience holds its collective breath, the sexy vamp cuts the ropes that bind the heros hands after she has drugged the villains. The film is particularly noted for a rural setting, and it became a super hit, taking second place at the box office for 1971. It is also said to have many elements that inspired one of the box office champs of all time, Sholay(1975). The climax fights are still remembered for the realism and are very convincing although a single man is fighting a horde of bandits. LAXMI CHHAYA fact - This charming and beautiful woman never made it big as a heroine. The closest she came was in Mere Gaon Mere Desh, where she absolutely shines as dacoit Vinod Khannas spy who falls in love with the object of her assignment—Dharmendra. she is able to dance to any kind of song: tawaif, night club, village entertainment. Her most captivating feature in my opinion is her smile—it lights up the screen with joy, and theres no mistaking it for anyone elses. Plus, nobody dances like she does—it gives whiplash just watching her sometimes, but she comes through unscathed! When she has an actual role, its always secondary—the heroines best friend, the vamp, etc. The face is unmistakable and unique with big round eyes and a toothy grin. It's Laxmi Chhaya who appeared in a number of Bollywood films of the 60s and 70s. Today she may be the most recognizable Bollywood figure in the West due to her appearance in Terry Zwigoff's "Ghost World" the film based on Daniel Clowes' graphic novel of the same name. Laxmi was the dancer of the Bollywood item dance number "Jaan Pehchan Ho Jeena Aasan Ho " that Mohd Rafi sings in "Gumnaam" [1965]. How ironic is it that it would be Laxmi Chhaya dancing an item number from a second rate Manjol Kumar, Babita, fluff entertainer that would be the first actual Bollywood film footage to be shown in wide distribution on Western movie theater screens? Laxmi Chhaya quite often played bubbly secondary characters and as far as I know she never had a starring role in an A-grade Bollywood film. Maachis

'Maachis' is a true story inspired by the 1984 Sikh riots after the assassination of Indira Gandhi, the Prime Minister of India. The police started assaulting innocent Sikh families which led to many youths joining extremist groups to revolt against an oppressive regime. Kripal (Chandrachur Singh) lives peacefully with his best friend Jaswant (Raj Zutshi) and is in love with Jaswants's sister, Veeran (Tabu). Their peaceful life is disrupted when the police wrongfully arrest Jaswant and subject him to third degree torture. After several days, Jaswant returns but seeing his friend in a horrible and dreaded state, Kripal vows to take revenge against the police. Kripal joins an extremist group headed by a commander (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) which includes Sanatan (Om Puri) and Jaimal (Jimmy Shergill) who all are aching to burn down the government. How will innocent Kripal who has transformed into a dreaded terrorist go on to seek vengeance?

Border

In the year 1971 the Indian army has been sent to a deserted place in Longewala region of Punjab to war with the Pakistani Army. Under the command of Major Kuldeep Singh (Sunny Deol), 120 Indian soldiers patrol the desert to keep a check on the Pakistani army. But the Pakistani battalion is over 2000 soldiers strong, consisting of war tanks and all the ammunition needed to crush the Indian army. Now, 120 soldiers have to hold an entire night against 2000 Pakistani soldiers till help arrives in the morning. The Higher command orders Major Kuldeep Singh to retreat as it was impossible to fight. Major Kuldeep Singh and his battalion refuse to fall back and stand their ground to fight hordes of enemies till death. With every soldier having a tale to tell, a family to love, they must protect their country at any cost and fight to supremacy and win the Indo-Pak war.

Aadmi

Rajesh (Dilip Kumar) comes from a wealthy family who is both shrewd in business and large of heart. He is friends with Shekhar (Manoj Kumar), who is a young doctor. Shekhar is in love with Meena (Waheeda Rehman), the daughter of one of Rajesh's servants. Meena too falls in love with Shekhar, but when Rajesh falls for Meena and determines to marry her, Shekhar and Meena decide to conceal their relationship. Rajesh and Meena get engaged but tragedy strikes when they meet with a car accident in which Rajesh becomes paralyzed and is confined to a wheelchair. It is then that Rajesh finds out about Shekhar and Meena's affair and Rajesh's murderous and possessive hatred from the past surfaces. Soon everyone's loyalties are put to the test where Rajesh's demons from the past put the lives of Shekhar and Meena in danger. How will Rajesh's darkness alter the lives of people around him? Who will survive amidst the angst and fatal treachery?

1982 - Tron - Trailer

Kevin Flynn is a former employee of the software corporation ENCOM, now running a arcade. Flynn has been trying to hack into ENCOM's mainframe computer to find evidence that ENCOM's senior executive Ed Dillinger stole four video games he created. But Dillinger's supercomputer "Master Control Program" foils Flynn's efforts and dictates and controls most of the computer systems. One night, Flynn's former girlfriend Lora and her boyfriend, ace computer programmer Alan Bradley helps Flynn break into ENCOM to shut down the MCP with Alan's security program "TRON". But MCP uses Lora's matter transmission program and converts Flynn into data and sends him into the computer. Flynn finds himself in a electronic world ruled by the MCP and his evil chief henchman Sark, where computer programs are the alter-egos of their creators and are forced to compete in gladiatorial games. With help from Tron, a heroic and fearless security program and his lover, Yori, Flynn sets out destroy the MCP and help Tron liberate the system from the MCP's control, by destroying the MCP is Flynn's only way of returning to the real world.

It is the biggest hit in the history of Bollywood, India's Hindi film industry. Released on 15 August 1975, it stars Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Jaya Bhaduri and Amjad Khan. The movie, shot in the rocky terrain of Ramanagara (actual city in Karnataka), is the story of two petty criminals hired to capture, for a bounty, a ruthless dacoit by the name of Gabbar Singh. Sholay is the highest grossing film of all time in Indian cinema. It has earned Rs. 768,81,00,000, equivalent to US$ 160 million, after adjusting for inflation. When first released, the film was declared a commercial disaster. Word of mouth convinced movie-goers to give the film a chance and soon it became a box-office phenomenon. It ran for 286 weeks straight (more than five years) in one Mumbai theatre, the Minerva. Sholay racked up a still-record 60 golden jubilees across India and doubled its original gross over reruns during the late 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s. Based on Shishirshendu Majumdar's novel by the same name, Hirer Angti is national Award winning director Rituporno Ghosh's debut movie. It is a story of Ratanlal Bandhopadhyaya and his family who are soaked in the euphoria of the impending Durga Pooja celebrations. But their celebration is stopped short on the arrival of an unknown visitor Gandhava Kumar. It turns out that his grandfather, notorious dacoit king Ram Dulal had left a sack full of gold coins with Ratanlal when chased by villagers and told him that one day his grandson would come to claim it. He will carry a diamond ring as his identification proof and would utter the syllable "Ram Dulal's Grandson". Two of Ram Dulal's follower s comes to meet Ratanlal on the eve of Mahalaya to enquire about the grandson. Gandharva Kumar shows all the proof and Ratanlal gives him the gold coins. However, things aren't as easy as it seems. One of the followers has hatched a plan to get the gold coins and had sent a theatre person to the Bandhopadhyay household disguised as Gandharva Kumar. Eventually they get caught and peace is restored in the family.

He first gained popularity in the early 1970s as the "angry young man" of Bollywood cinema, and has since become one of the most prominent figures in the history of Indian cinema.He holds the record for most number of Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor nominations at the Filmfare Awards. In addition to acting. Bachchan made his film debut in 1969 as one of the seven protagonists in Saat Hindustani, a film directed by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas and featuring Utpal Dutt, Madhu and Jalal Agha. Though the film was not a financial success, Bachchan won his first National Film Award for Best Newcomer. Amitabh then played his first negative role as an infatuated lover-turned-murderer in Parwaana (1971). This was followed by several films including Reshma Aur Shera (1971).
