"Kabhi Kabhie; Love Is Life" (English: Sometimes...) is a 1976 Bollywood film, produced and directed by Yash Chopra, starring Waheeda Rehman, Shashi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Raakhee Gulzar, Neetu Singh and Rishi Kapoor. This was Yash Chopra's second directorial film with Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor in the lead roles after Deewar. The movie was a great commercial success with excellent performances and haunting music by Khayyam. The movie's concept came to Yash Chopra while he was reading a poem by his longtime friend (and also the film's lyricist) Sahir Ludhianvi. The movie was shot by Yash Chopra in Kashmir. A quintessential Pancham-Asha-Gulzar song. The stand-out feature of this track is the odd 17-beats in the first line of the mukhra, when the rest of the composition is in 8-beats. A treat for the trio's fans. Album : Dil Padosi Hai (1987). Singer : Asha Bhosle, Music Director : Rahul Dev Burman, Lyrics : Gulzar. This album is the perfect example of Pancham's musical-flamboyance and elan, Asha's enchanting vocals and Gulzar's sublime poetry coming together. In this track, Pancham's unconventional music-sense shines through. The classical base to the composition, generous use of electronic music, the smooth blend of synths with taar-shehnai and above all the odd 17-beat mukhra. This 'split' (of 8+9 beats) rhythm has been debated at length in music forums. When asked about this, Asha said, "Oh, I never knew it was 17 beats. RD broke the tracks and mixed them in such a way I always thought it was 16-beats". Asha described this album as " the best album of my life and very close to my heart ".

Lyrics by Shakeel Badayuni........... Asha Bhosle (Marathi: आशा भोंसले) (born September 8, 1933) is an Indian singer. She is best known as a Bollywood playback singer, although she has a much wider repertoire. Her career started in 1943 and has spanned over six decades. She has done playback singing for over 1000 Bollywood movies and sold many records. She is the sister of the equally accomplished Lata Mangeshkar. Asha Bhosle has won seven Filmfare Best Female Playback Awards out of 18 nominations. She won her first two awards in 1967 and 1968, when Lata Mangeshkar still used to accept the award (Mangeshkar asked not to be considered for the award nominations after 1969 to promote new talent). After receiving the award in 1979, Bhosle emulated her elder sister and requested that her name not be considered for the nominations hereafter. Despite this, Bhosle is the most frequent winner of this award to date, tying with Alka Yagnik. She was later given a Special Award for Rangeela in 1996, and the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001.
