Update on Police execution of Muslims in India

Amit Shah behind Prajapati murder: CBI Ashok Bagriya , CNN-IBN Updated Mar 09, 2011 at 07:04pm IST New Delhi: Former Gujarat Home Minister Amit Shah conspired with policemen to kill Tulsiram Prajapati, a witness to the Sohrabuddin fake encounter, CBI told the Supreme court on Wednesday. Shah is also a close aide to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. The CBI has claimed that Shah had conspired with a section of Gujarat police officials to eliminate Prajapati in 2006. The CBI told the Supreme Court this was because he was witness in the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case and just prior to Prajapati's encounter death there were many phone calls between Shah and IPS official Rajkumar Pandian. CBI has petitioned the Supreme court to merge both the Sohrabuddin and Prajapati encounter killngs and hand over the investigation to them. Narmada Bai, the mother of the deceased, had sought transfer of the case to CBI on the ground that he was a key witness in Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter killing case which was transferred to the agency by the apex court on January 12, 2010. CBI's senior counsel KTS Tulsi also supported the plea for transfer of the case to the agency on the ground that Tulsiram Prajapati's killing was an "integral part" of the Sohrabuddin killing. While Sohrabuddin and Kasuer Bi were killed in a fake encounter by the Gujarat police in November 2005, Tulsiram Prajapati, it was alleged, was shot dead by the police in a similar encounter on December 27, 2006 to destroy all evidence. CNN-INDIA EXCLUSIVE Sumit Pande / CNN-INDIA Published on Sat, Aug 08, 2009 at 08:59, Updated on Sat, Aug 08, 2009 at 15:35 in Politics section New Delhi: More than 50,000 poor minority students in Gujarat have been reportedly denied central scholarship. This report has once again put Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in a spot. His is the only state government in the country which is not willing to bear 25 per cent share of the central-sponsored pre matric scholarship scheme for the minorities. The Centre gives around Rs 22 lakh ($45,753.21) scholarships for poor Muslims students, of which more than Rs 57,000 ($1,185.42) is earmarked for Gujarat alone. Every child whose parents earn less than Rs 1 lakh ($2,079.14) per annum/year is entitled to this scholarship and can get an amount between Rs 800 ($16.63) to Rs 1500 ($31.18). Last year the Gujarat government wrote to the Centre that such schemes based on minority status of a community will not help in the countrys development. This year again, despite of repeated reminders, the state government has not earmarked any money which means the minority students will remain deprived of their due. This is unconstitutional, says Congress spokesperson, Abhishek Manu Singhvi. This scholarship scheme is a part of Prime Ministers 15 point programme for minorities and Gujarat is the only state opposing it.

Five people were injured when a hand grenade was hurled by Tamil Hindu extremists at the Husseiniya Mosque in Kattankudy around 7.15 PM on the 25 or October 2008. Muslim youths gangrape a Hindu girl in Surat

Surat police arrested three Muslim youths who kidnapped and gang raped a school girl in the city, within hours of the incident. Two of the suspects Shahid Saiyad and Tarik Saiyad are sons of Policemen. Shahids father Nizamuddin is Circle Police Inspector in Dholka, while Tariks father is Head Constable in Surat Polices Mahidharpura. One more suspect is Abu Bakar. According to Surat Police, Abu, Shahid and Tarik spotted the 17-year-old girl at a bus stop near the Regional Transport Office (RTO), Majura gate in the morning. A girl was exchanging Chemistry note with a boy. Shahid, Tarik and Abu called a girl near the car saying they were from Police. Later they pulled the girl and the boy in the car forcefully. They then tied a boy with a tree and continued to keep a girl in their car. Each of the three youths gang raped the girl in the moving car on rear seat and abandoned her on the Udhna road. They captured a video of rap incident and threatened the girl that they would make this video public if she complains. The badly bruised girl called up her parents from a telephone booth and narrated the incident to them. Hindu Dance-Bharatanatyam -Ganesha Stuti

Bharatnatyam is one of the many traditional dance from India.It originated in grand temples of Ancient India.Its oldest description goes back to sangam literature. It originated around 2B.C-1B.C in Temples of Shiva in South-India. It has its inspirations from the sculptures of the ancient temple of Chidambaram. In ancient times it was performed as "dasiattam" by mandir (Hindu temple) Devadasis. Many of the ancient sculptures in Hindu temples are based on Bharata Natyam dance postures karanas. In fact, it is the celestial dancers, apsara's, who are depicted in many scriptures dancing the heavenly version of what is known on earth as Bharata Natyam. In the most essential sense, a Hindu deity is a revered royal guest in his temple/abode, to be offered the "sixteen hospitalities" - among which are music and dance, pleasing to the senses. Thus, many Hindu temples traditionally maintained complements of trained musicians and dancers, as did Indian rulers. In Kali Yuga, the center of most arts in India is Bhakti (devotion) and therefore, Bharata Natyam as a dance form and carnatic music set to it are deeply grounded in Bhakti. Bharata Natyam, it is said, is the embodiment of music in visual form, a ceremony, and an act of devotion. Dance and music are inseparable forms; only with Sangeetam (words or syllables set to raga or melody) can dance be conceptualized. Bharata Natyam has three distinct elements to it: Nritta (rhythmic dance movements), Natya (mime, or dance with a dramatic aspect), and Nritya (combination of Nritta and Natya). It is believed that Bharata Natyam is mainly a renewal of Cathir, the ancient art of temple dancers.This dance form denotes various 19th and 20th century reconstructions of Cathir, the art of temple dancers from ancient dance forms. Essential ideasBharata Natyam is considered to be a 'fire dance' — the mystic manifestation of the metaphysical element of fire in the human body. It is one of the five major styles (one for each element) that include Odissi (element of water), Mohiniattam (element of air), Kuchipudi (element of earth) and Kathakali (element of sky). The movements of an authentic Bharata Natyam dancer resemble the movements of a dancing flame. Contemporary Bharata Natyam is rarely practiced as Natya Yoga (popularly known as 'Dance Yoga'), a sacred meditational tradition, except by a few orthodox schools. Bharata Natyam proper is a solo dance, with two aspects, lasya, the graceful feminine lines and movements, and tandava Ananda Thandavam (Tamil) (the dance of Shiva), masculine aspect, which is identical to the Yin and Yang in the Chinese culture Bharata Natyam performance lasts about two hours, and includes six or more of the following parts: Allarippu - A presentation of the Tala punctuated by simple syllables spoken by the dancer. This really is sort of an invocation to the gods to bless the performance. Kautuvam - Ancient temple dance item performed in the beginning of the recital, containing rhythmic syllables sung for jathis. Ganapati Vandana - A traditional opening prayer to the Hindu god Ganesh, who removes obstacles. See also Pushpanjali Jatiswaram - An abstract dance where the drums set the beat. Here the dancer displays her versatility in elaborate footwork and graceful movements of the body. Shabdam - The dancing is accompanied by a poem or song with a devotional or amorous theme. Varnam - The center piece of the performance. It is the longest section of the dance punctuated with the most complex and difficult movements. Positions of the hands and body tell a story, usually of love and the longing for the lover. Padam - Probably the most lyrical section where the dancer "speaks" of some aspect of love: devotion to the Supreme Being; or of love of mother for child; or the love of lovers separated and reunited. Javali - Javalis are relatively new, pure abhinaya types of compositions of light and pleasing nature. Like Padams the underlying theme of Javalis is Sringara Rasa depicting the Nayaka-Nayaki bhava. Thillana - The final section is a pure dance (nritta) when the virtuosity of the music is reflected in the complex footwork and captivating poses of the dancer. Apart from these items, there are items such as Shlokam, Swarajathi, Krithi etc. The performance concludes with the chanting of a few religious verses as a form of benediction. Certain styles include more advanced items, such as Tharanga Nritham and Suddha Nritham. When a dancer has mastered all the elements of dance, as a coming out performance, he or she generally performs an Arangetram (debut). Angikam - This is a devotional song on Lord Shiva and an item dance in bharatnatyam. It can also be performed in byapti slow motion.

Incredible India-Odissi Classical Dance (HD)-Part 1-Mangalacharan by Sujata Mohapatra

Odissi is one of the eight classical dance forms of India. It originates from the state of Orissa, in eastern India. It is the oldest surviving dance form of India on the basis of archaeological evidences.The classic treatise of Indian dance, Natya Shastra, refers to it as Odra-Magadhi. First century BCE bas-reliefs in the hills of Udaygiri (near Bhubaneshwar) testify to its antiquity. Traditional Odissi repertoire consists of: Mangalacharan- An invocational piece. After paying homage to Lord Jagganath a sloka (hymn) in praise of some God or Goddess is sung, the meaning of which is brought out through dance. Mangalacharan also includes the 'bhumi pranam', begging forgiveness of mother earth for stamping on her, and the 'trikhandi pranam' or threefold salutation - above the head to the Gods, in front of the face to the gurus and in front of the chest to the audience. Battu Nrutya- A dance piece offered to the Lord of dance - God Shiva in his 'Batuka Bhairava' form. This piece brings out the essence of Odissi. The interrelationship between temple sculptural art and Odissi dance is established with an array of sculpturesque poses taken directly from the innumerable dancing sculptures adorning the temples of Orissa. Usually Hindu mythologies are chosen as themes, but experimenting with the theme and form in recent years have led to extremely unique creations. Some worth-mentioning themes in recent years are Panchakanya, Ganga yamuna, Shrita kamalam, Mrutyuh and Tantra. Moksha- The concluding item of a recital. Moksha means "spiritual liberation". This dance represents a spiritual culmination for the dancer who soars into the realm of pure aesthetic delight. Incredible India-Odissi Classical Dance(HD)-Part 4-Pallavi by Sujata Mohapatra

Odissi is one of the eight classical dance forms of India. It originates from the state of Orissa, in eastern India. It is the oldest surviving dance form of India on the basis of archaeological evidences.The classic treatise of Indian dance, Natya Shastra, refers to it as Odra-Magadhi. First century BCE bas-reliefs in the hills of Udaygiri (near Bhubaneshwar) testify to its antiquity. Traditional Odissi repertoire consists of: Mangalacharan- An invocational piece. After paying homage to Lord Jagganath a sloka (hymn) in praise of some God or Goddess is sung, the meaning of which is brought out through dance. Mangalacharan also includes the 'bhumi pranam', begging forgiveness of mother earth for stamping on her, and the 'trikhandi pranam' or threefold salutation - above the head to the Gods, in front of the face to the gurus and in front of the chest to the audience. Battu Nrutya- A dance piece offered to the Lord of dance - God Shiva in his 'Batuka Bhairava' form. This piece brings out the essence of Odissi. The interrelationship between temple sculptural art and Odissi dance is established with an array of sculpturesque poses taken directly from the innumerable dancing sculptures adorning the temples of Orissa. The fight will be in Washington DC Convention Center on December 10th,2011Seeing as that Peterson is from DC, he definitely has hometown advantage gainst Khan, who is currently the unified WBA Super and IBF Light Welterweight Champion, a joke was made that it was "gangster" of Khan to come to DC to fight Peterson in his own house. It's the first time in 18 years that HBO has come to DC showcase boxing.
