Dr Subramanian Swamy replying to questions asked by Students in the MS University. Dr Swamy says that its not needed that Muslim should say them self Hindu but they can call them self as "Hindustani". He says privately Muslim acknowledges that their ancestors are Hindus. But Muslim priest do not want Muslims to acknowledge this because it will bring the Hindu & Muslim much more closer. He says that when Money comes then image conscientiousness comes. He says that Gandhi, Vivekananda all were transparent. People should be frank in politics and should tell what can not be done and what can be done. Regarding reservation he says that if a community has ever been in the ruling class of this country then they should never get reservation. In India only scheduled caste and schedule tribe were never been in the ruling class and that's why they should get reservation. He says at the time of independence then Ambedkar rejected the offer of separate electorate offered by British for SC/ST. That time Mahatma Gandhi promised that once the country will be independent then SC/ST's will get the reservations. He says that now any family who got reservation for 1-2 generation should not be given reservation. Salman Rushdie reveals the strength of free speech Part-1
The Bombay Chokra, British Mystical Novelist, had his first taste of international fame in 1981 with Magnum Opus, Semi-Biographical 'Midnight children' and later success with a string of Political fictions like 'shame', suddenly found himself in trouble with the release of 'Satanic Verses'. The concept was discarded as insensitive and offensive, angry mobs forced themselves into the streets setting fire and destroying property, a Japanese Translator of the novel was stabbed to death, a book launch premiere was desecrated killing 36 civilians in Turkey. The sacred enlightenment of freedom of expression was caught in the nutshell, and was no longer available. Political heavyweights surrendered. Rushdie vanished into the hiding world, suddenly he was no longer secure, he became a fugitive and hunted. The protesters created carnage and havoc in the streets of London to Lahore, political opportunists used this as a campaign card in the subcontinent, sadly, the hooligans didn't even read his novel because they couldn't do so. Interestingly, India's secularism was once again put to test, with the vulnerable and submissive Rajiv Gandhi's leadership at the center. Presumably, the spoilt brat offspring of the infamous Indian political dynasty, with the fear of loosing his precious seat at his office, played the pseudo-appeasement card of religious sensitivities. as a result, India was the first country to ban 'Satanic Verses'!!! The opposition's self-masochism and guilt forced them to remain mum. But, the progressive and secular Indian media has not yet forgiven Congress govt. vote bank policy, which the current center has to leap in shame. Salman Rushdie as christopher hitchens recalls, as the greatest escape of the free-speech of his time, a 'Spinoza' of the Post soviet-breakdown era.. India, has a number of 'Spinoza's' in its backyard, but its unlikely to show any amount of remorse or solidarity with those folks. Secularism is purely a political term in India, with the greed for power at any cost. Secular Fundamentalism, the separation of religion/religious facets from the state is necessary. If this doesn't happen in a few years, its not a paranoia to assume a mirror image of the anarchy of its neighboring Pakistan, in itself.

A senior Gujarat police officer has implicated Chief Minister Narendra Modi in the post-Godhra riots. Senior IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court accusing Chief Minister Narendra Modi of issuing instructions that Hindus should be allowed to express their anger and Muslims should be taught a befitting lesson so that incidents like the burning of Sabarmati Express never happen again in Gujarat.

Gujarat BJP's reaction on Vastanavi's removal from Darool Ulum
Gujarat BJP spokesperson Shri Jagdishbhai Bhai Bhavsar today reacted on Maulana Vastanavi's removal from the post of Vice Chancellor of Darul Uloom. Bhavsar said removal of Vastanavi is though an internal matter of Uttar Pradesh based Darul Uloom, so far as Gujarat's feelings are concerned, one of the issues taken into consideration for removing him is his appreciation for Gujarat's development. Vastanavi praised Gujarat's overall development under the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi, policy of taking all classes together and some pseudo secular elements created controversy out of that. Gujarat's any religious chief is not there in Deoband institution. Forty percent of Muslim clerics in Deoband have supported Vastanavi. This indicates that the development in Gujarat is supported by 40% of nation's Muslim clerics associated with Deoband.

Lok Sabha polls 2009:BJP claims it is ahead on 21 Gujarat seats
Talking to media persons in Ahmedabad, Gujarat BJP spokes person Shri Vijay Rupani said that according to booth wise calculation based on new delimitation, the BJP is ahead in 21 Lok Sabha constituencies of Gujarat. In previous Lok Sabha elections the BJP had won only 14 seats in Gujarat. Rupani said that Gujarat BJP will give priority to women while selecting Loksabha candidates for 25 seats(leaving Gandhinagar seat, which is already allotted to Shri L.K.Advani). He said that the party has decided to allot more tickets to women in this election. Rupani said that the BJP will have more women candidates than the Congress in Gujarat in this election. He said that names of Ex-ministers and existing Gujarat ministers have also come up while discussing the Lok Sabha candidates. When asked about Smriti Iranis possible candidature from Vadodara, Rupani said that her name has not come from the bottom level, however final decision on Vadodara or any other seat will be made in Delhi.

Setback For Narendra Modi As Gujarat HC Upholds Lokayukta Appointment (TV5)
The Gujarat high court on Wednesday upheld the appointment of Lokayukta by the governor and dismissed the plea of the Narendra Modi government that had challenged it. In a majority decision, the court concluded that governor Dr Kamla Beniwal was right in appointing retired HC judge RA Mehta as Lokayukta and dismissed the state government's petition challenging the governor's act. 'Gujarat govt sheilding Godhra riot accused'
For the first time ever, former IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt's lawyer has spoken on camera reiterating what the IPS officer has said in his affidavit in the Supreme Court -- alleging that the state government was shielding those accused in the 2002 Godhra riots. Bhatt's lawyer, Iqbal Syed, also claimed that the SIT officers were leaking confidential evidence to the lawyers of the riot accused.
